A new New York State law signed on Monday will help protect the fashion industry's young models—giving
them the same rights to protection as minors working in other
performing arts fields. Now employers will be required to provide a
support system for young models equivalent to what would be available to
them in school—including making a nurse available, and strict
regulations on models' working hours.
